Why lease a SEAT Ibiza?

Leasing is a low-hassle way to run a brand-new supermini for a fixed monthly cost. You avoid the big upfront payment of buying, you're not exposed to what the car is worth at the end, and you simply hand it back and lease something new when the contract finishes.

The Ibiza is a strong choice on a lease for a few reasons:

  • It's practical and grown-up for a small car. Five doors, a 355-litre boot (large for the class), and room for four adults make it usable as a main family car, not just a runabout.

  • It's cheap to run. The 1.0 TSI engine returns around 50mpg in real-world driving, and superminis like this sit in low insurance groups.

  • It's good to drive. The Ibiza has always been the sportier, sharper-handling option among small cars — especially in FR trim.

  • It's built on proven VW Group engineering. Shared parts with the Polo mean a well-sorted, reliable car, usually at a lower monthly price than the badge-equivalent VW.

  • 5-star Euro NCAP safety. The Ibiza holds a 5-star Euro NCAP rating, with a strong 95% score for adult occupant protection.

SEAT Ibiza trims explained: which one should you lease?

The Ibiza range is simple, which makes choosing easy. Here's how the main trims compare.

SE & SE Technology

The value end of the range, and well equipped for the money. Both get alloy wheels, air conditioning, cruise control, a touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the full safety kit. SE Technology adds a larger touchscreen and extra tech features. If you want a sensible, no-fuss supermini at the lowest monthly price, start here.

FR & FR Sport

The sporty trims, and the most popular Ibizas. FR adds a sportier body kit, sports suspension, unique styling touches, tinted rear windows and a more driver-focused feel — it looks and drives noticeably sharper than the SE without costing much more per month. FR Sport builds on that with larger 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control and a digital driver's display. If you want the Ibiza that's the most fun and the best-looking, FR is the one to lease — and it's the version most people search for.

Xcellence & special editions (stock-dependent)

You may also see Xcellence, First Edition or other special-edition Ibizas in the deals while stock lasts. These bundle extra comfort and styling features. Because availability changes as the range is updated, check the individual deal for the exact trim and equipment.

Which engine: 1.0 TSI 95 or 115?

Every current Ibiza uses the same 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine, in one of two power outputs:

  • 1.0 TSI 95 — 95hp, 0–62mph in around 11 seconds. Perfectly good for town and everyday driving, the most economical and usually the cheapest to lease. The right choice for most drivers.

  • 1.0 TSI 115 — 115hp, 0–62mph in around 9.9 seconds. Noticeably punchier, especially on faster roads and motorways, and the only version offered with the DSG automatic gearbox. Worth it if you do longer journeys or want a bit more pace.

Both return a similar real-world economy, so the choice is really about how much performance you want.

Manual vs DSG automatic

  • Manual (5- or 6-speed): standard on most trims, and slightly cheaper to lease. A satisfying gearchange and the lowest running costs — the traditional supermini choice.

  • DSG automatic (7-speed): available with the 115hp engine. SEAT's DSG is a smooth, quick-shifting automatic that's ideal if you spend a lot of time in stop-start traffic or simply prefer two pedals. It costs a little more per month.

If most of your driving is urban and you value ease, the DSG auto is worth the small premium. If you enjoy driving and want the lowest price, stick with the manual.

SEAT Ibiza running costs: what to expect

Ibiza's appeal is low cost, so here's the honest running-cost picture — the part most lease pages skip.

Fuel. Official WLTP combined economy is roughly 49–55mpg depending on engine, trim and wheel size. In real-world mixed driving, expect around 45–50mpg. At current pump prices, around 50mpg works out at roughly 13–14p per mile in fuel — cheap for a petrol car, and a big saving over a larger SUV.

Insurance. The Ibiza sits in low insurance groups (the 95hp SE is among the cheapest), which keeps overall running costs down — useful for younger or newer drivers.

Road tax (VED). As a petrol car, the Ibiza pays standard road tax. Check whether it's included in your CarLeasing deal.

Servicing. Simple, well-understood VW Group mechanicals mean servicing is straightforward and parts are widely available and affordable.

Fuel-cost figures are illustrative, based on ~50mpg at current pump prices; your actual cost depends on driving style and conditions.

Who is the SEAT Ibiza right for?

The Ibiza is a well-rounded supermini, but it suits some drivers better than others.

The Ibiza is a great fit if you:

  • Want a practical, economical small car with a big boot for the class

  • Do a mix of town and longer driving and want something comfortable and easy

  • Like the idea of VW Polo engineering at a lower monthly price

  • Want a sporty look and feel without a big price jump (that's FR)

Look at something else if you:

  • Need lots of rear-seat space for tall adults regularly (a small SUV or larger hatch may suit better)

  • Want an electric or hybrid car — the Ibiza is petrol-only

  • Need all-wheel drive or serious load space

Personal vs business leasing on the SEAT Ibiza

You can lease Ibiza either way, and the right choice depends on who's paying.

Personal leasing (PCH) is for private drivers. You pay a fixed monthly rental that includes VAT — the price you see is the price you pay. This is the most popular route for anyone leasing in their own name, and Ibiza's low rentals make it an easy budgeting choice.

Business leasing (BCH) is for companies, sole traders and partnerships. Prices are shown excluding VAT, and VAT-registered businesses can often reclaim part of the VAT on the rentals, depending on how the car is used (typically 50% on the finance element for a car available for private use). As a low-cost petrol car it won't have the ultra-low company-car tax of an EV, but its modest price keeps overall costs down.

Both options appear on every deal on this page and use the Personal / Business toggle to switch between them.

Business and company-car tax treatment depends on your circumstances and the current tax year. Check with your accountant before deciding.

What affects your SEAT Ibiza lease price?

The monthly figure moves with four things:

  • Initial rental — the upfront payment, usually shown as a multiple of the monthly rental (for example 6 or 12 months). A larger initial rental lowers the monthly cost.

  • Contract length — most deals run 24, 36 or 48 months. Longer terms usually mean lower monthly payments.

  • Annual mileage — the more miles you agree to, the higher the rental. Choose a realistic figure to avoid excess-mileage charges at the end.

  • Trim, engine and gearbox — an FR Sport with the 115 DSG costs more per month than an SE 95 manual.

Adjust these on any deal to see how the monthly price changes before you enquire.

SEAT Ibiza lease deals: frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to lease a SEAT Ibiza?

Lease prices depend on the trim, engine, gearbox, contract length, annual mileage and initial rental you choose. The current lead deals on this page start from around £257 per month including VAT on a personal lease. Use the filters on any deal to see the exact monthly price for your terms.

What is the SEAT Ibiza FR?

FR is the sporty trim in the Ibiza range — the most popular version. It adds a sportier body kit, sports suspension, unique styling and a more driver-focused feel, while keeping the same efficient 1.0 TSI engines. FR Sport goes further with 18-inch wheels and extra kit. Both are available to lease on this page.

Is the SEAT Ibiza a good first or family car?

Yes. It's practical (a 355-litre boot, five doors), cheap to run and sits in low insurance groups, which makes it a strong first car. It's also comfortable and safe enough to work as a main family supermini.

Is the SEAT Ibiza automatic?

It's available both ways. Most trims come with a manual gearbox, and the 115hp engine can be paired with SEAT's 7-speed DSG automatic — smooth and ideal for town driving. Filter the deals by transmission to see automatic options.

How economical is the SEAT Ibiza?

Official WLTP combined economy is around 49–55mpg depending on engine and trim, with real-world figures typically in the mid-to-high 40s. That makes it one of the cheaper cars of its size to fuel.

Can I lease a SEAT Ibiza for my business?

Yes. Business contract hire is available on every Ibiza deal, with prices shown excluding VAT. VAT-registered businesses can often reclaim part of the VAT on the rentals. Switch to the Business tab on any deal to see business pricing.

How safe is SEAT Ibiza?

The Ibiza holds a 5-star Euro NCAP rating, with a strong 95% score for adult occupant protection. Every version comes with autonomous emergency braking and a full suite of airbags and stability systems as standard.
